I have tried in vain for the last couple of years to organize portfolios for my students. Despite my intentions I consistently failed to maintain students’ papers throughout the year. The problem was I was doing all of the work, when I really didn’t have time for more busy work. Students weren’t spending enough time reflecting and the whole point of having student portfolios was lost. This year I have decided to have my students create online portfolios. I am going to have students create digital portfolios with Google Sites. This will tie in nicely with Google Classroom and my use of Google Interactive Notebooks. Below I posted the videos I intend to utilize to show how to set up an ePortfolio. I have also added a rubric I intend to utilize to grade students’ efforts.
I also created a video to show how to set up the share settings on your Google portfolio.
Here is the rubric I intend to utilize.
I will keep you posted on how the ePortfolios work out. I think they will be a great addition to my class. Do you use ePortfolios in you class? If so, what do you use? Please let me know. Thanks!
